Just hearing the term “thunder thighs” makes you cringe. If you’re anything like me, you’ve always dealt with thunder thighs. It’s no fun to be the laughing joke when you go see a comedian and he calls attention to your thunder thighs booming together. Are they genetic? Maybe. Is there anything we can do about it? Definitely. You can take charge of your thunder thighs now. Get rid of your thunder thighs with these awesome, easy to do exercises.
First, you are going to want to check with your doctor to make sure you are healthy enough for exercise. This is really important if you haven’t exercised in a while, if you are pregnant, or if you have problems with your back.
Next, you are going to want to stretch. Take 10 minutes to stretch, and you will feel much better after your work out. A warm up can be as simple as walking around the block. In order to get your heart rate up, start walking slowly, and increase your speed as you go. This will help you stretch out your leg muscles. As you near the last two minutes, slow your pace back down. Your stretches can involve lunges, squats, or going up and down your stairs two at a time.
Exercises for Thunder Thighs
Next, you will want to do leg lifts. These will help your inner thighs, and they’re easy to do. Simply put one knee down on a yoga mat and lift the other leg into the air. Pull your leg in close to your chest and push it back out. Repeat twenty five times with each leg. Do this exercise daily, and you’ll quickly notice a difference.
You might want to invest in an exercise ball. They’re not very expensive and can be found at Wal-mart. There are so many thigh exercises you can do with an exercise ball. (These are also known as a Bosu or balance ball.) You can find so many of these great exercise ball workouts on YouTube. Here, they will demonstrate exactly what you should be doing in order to decrease the size of your thighs. Some balls are slide resistant which really helps if you’re working out on a slick floor.
